Recently, we have done a project in a recycling plant in Bibra Lake. Our client requested a job to modify a conveyor.
Their old conveyor had a 45 degree angle in the midsection to gain height in the hopper and because of the angle it was causing frequent jamming of materials. As a result, their production was low because of frequent breakdowns. They requested a quote to repair or modify the conveyor.
Total EMI sent out their electrical mechanical and fabrication specialist for the job to write a blueprint of the design and to carry out the fabrications and electrical work. We then submitted this new designs to a team of engineers to ensure that the new design would work within the customers desired work production.
We welded a new brackets for them, straightened the conveyor removing the 45 degree angle and raised the conveyor to get maximum height for the hopper. As a result the materials were passing more efficiently in the machine and reduced breakdown (damaged belts) and constant blockages in their recycling equipment.
All work was carried out and planned according to safety standards and JSA’s were done each day to ensure that everyone in the site were safe. All tradesmen were qualified and were insured to do the job with necessary qualifications for the job. The job was carried out with 200 of combined work hours all weekend work to avoid affecting production.
Total EMI provided necessary equipment for the jobs including but not limited to welding machines, welding materials, electrical testers, etc.
The customer was very impressed with the new design of the machine and the feedback was that the machine has stopped breaking down and has increased productivity in their plant.
